All shows are confirmed by way of a contract (see section below on contracts)
Care. We take pride in our work and as much care as we can to ensure our clients know what they are getting and getting just what they need, We are far too busy to put ourselves forward for inapropriate work and we will tell you if we feel we are unsuitable and do what we can to direct you to who is right for the job.
Sound Amplification The Fabulous Swinging Chandeliers, Swervy World and the 1911 Ragtime Band can work either accoustic/ semi accoustic or if amplification is needed this is sub contracted to a p.a. sound engineering company. The fee for the sound engineers is added on to our fee, the sound engineers are booked via Swervy Productions and it is our responsibility unless stated bye you to ensure ourn sound production needs are met. If you choose to dave money and book your own sound engineers and equipment then Swervy Productions can not be held responsible if it is all goes wrong, poor sound, not enough imputs, lateness, distortedness, etc etc...
For street events/ house party's/ intimate venues, we have a small, easy to transport and easy to set up, 200 watt p.a.
This can be powered by 12 volt (mains free) power.
In The case of the Swervy Cabaret Band we can, if neccessary, work accousticly.
The 1911 Ragtime band is always accoustic and you must specifically request if you require further amplification.
Band differences, There is perpetual confusion, we are one collective of musicians, but, we work more like a theatre company than a band, we have different band 'productions' all of them are good!
*The Fabulous swinging Chandeliers are a set five piece band with sound engineer,
*The Swervy Cabaret Band play as a quartet, trio, or duo. Please do not ask for the Fabulous Swinging Chandeliers trio- it does not exist. Or book a cabaret duo (as it is cheapest ) but then when we turn up expect us to do the same job as a dance band!
*The 1911 Ragtime band is a New Orleans inspired trad' jazz band doing mostly music of a ragtime/charleston nature
Play Time Depending on the performance briefing, The Swervy Cabaret Band will play from 2 minutes (a fanfare) to up to 2 and a half hours, depending on the venue briefing.
The Fabulous Swinging Chandeliers play 2 x 45 min sets or 1 x 1hour 30min set.
The 1911 Ragtime band play for up to two and a half hours.
Dressing Room: In the case of 'The Fabulous Swinging Chandeliers' a dressing room/green room is required
Get in/Get out. For any show, we require a two hour get in and a two hour get out time before and after the show, This gives us plenty of time if things do not go to plan (which invariably they won't) and covers us for all sorts of things like parking problems, costume problems, nervous breakdowns, blowing fuses, ect ect....
Inclement weather: For Outdoor sets it is the bookers responsibility to ensure a wet weather alternative is provided (excluding art car fm, and beach hut 118 wich are all weather shows)
Transport: Usually two vehicles, we need secure parking near to the performance area. if there is no parking (i.e. central London) please inform us as we will employ a driver so performers are not forced to leave there show responsibilitys and be left beating through traffic to park a van 10 miles from the venue and catching the tube back (it's happened!)
Other Stuff All electrical equipment is PAT tested.
We have some light resources but not of a flashy light and disco ball nature.
Contracts All verbal conformations (by phone or e mail) are followed up with a written contract, sent in the form of a questionaire, so you can give us every detail we need to ensure we get things exactly right.
We ask for 50% of the total booking fee on return of a signed contract to ensure the booking arrangement is firm.
N.B. A booking is only firm when a signed contract and deposit has been returned. (we can not risk turning away other work offers unless we have a garuntee of a firm booking, so we do not rely on a verbal conformation alone)
We can provide on specific request :
Lights and Decor, dance demonstrators, Taxi dancers and dance teachers, an MC/compare, and a circus tent as a venue.
